Another Outstanding Winter Crop Competition and Charity Auction

We’re delighted to share a wrap-up of what was another hugely successful Wānaka A&P Winter Crop Competition and Charity Auction. If you were there for the evening, you’ll already know it was a night to remember.
 

A Night to Celebrate

The prizegiving and charity auction drew a fantastic crowd of farmers with more than 140 sitting down to dinner and enjoying the lively atmosphere at the Upper Clutha Rugby Football Clubrooms. It was a great opportunity to catch up, share some stories, be entertained by guest speaker Peter Williams and celebrate the community spirit that underpins this event..

Thanks to the incredible support of the farming community and that of the many generous sponsors (click here to have a look who they are) – we again offered a superb range of items for auction. Bidding was spirited in both the live and silent auctions, with many items fetching more than face value. To all our bidders and underbidders: thank you for getting into the spirit of the evening and backing such vital causes.
 

Charity Support – $50,000 Raised!

We’re thrilled to report that this year’s event raised a total of $56,000, and after expenses, $50,000 will be distributed to our 2025 beneficiaries. This was only possible thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and the enthusiasm of everyone who came along and dug deep.
 
Funds will go towards:
 
  • The Otago Southland Rescue Helicopter Trust - advanced paramedic training.
  • The Tarras, Luggate, and Hāwea Fire Brigades – for the purchase of two backup generators and a mobile rescue stretcher
