Tuesday 30 October 2018 -

Last Saturday seen the annual Rotary Duck race take place down Bullock Creek and what a great event. It was the first time I had been there to enjoy it if standing in the cold water for a couple of hours was fun.

Thanks Richard for a well organised fundraiser, with only 15 small ducks unsold and I think I am correct in saying 54 corporate ducks sold. The corporate ducks are a huge success and the effort some of the businesses had gone too to decorate their ducks was amazing.

Maybe next year we could look to make a bigger effort to sell more corporate ducks and maybe have them on show a week before and give the public a chance to pick the best dressed duck.

A reminder about upcoming events.

With Melbourne cup falling on a meeting night it has been decided to go to Urban Grind and watch the MELBOURNE CUP, so no meeting on the 6th November at the Golf Club.

On the 10th November there is a District day at the highland race track and if you want to go please let me or Chris know before the 2nd November please so we can advise numbers for catering. There will be the chance to have a drive on the race track for a small fee and there is also the opportunity to bid in an action for a hot lap in a race car.

That’s it from me; look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

Well this is his bio from the back of his book.  He started his talk by describing growing up in Romania, and the hardship he endured.  He was living in the last years of communison, and it was a tough upbringing.  He described it as growing up angry.  He then aspired to make something of his life.  He managed to get a scholarship to NASA in Florida and experienced good mentors.  He said it is never how smart you are that matters, it is the social context you are in. The environment you find yourself in is very important.  Dreams can become reality.  You must first face the truth.  He questioned what is the truth and what is the environment.  He described an experience where he wanted to study climate change in the North and South Pole and how he was able to pursue this dream.  He said your dreams are about your unique expression in spirit and truth.  If you want/value or treasure something, don't give up.  If your dreams are not honest they will not work, they will only drain you.  He finished by saying there are three key things to remember. 1. What is in your heart, 2. What is in your hand, 3. What you do/what you have. If your believe in the TRUTH , your dreams will come true
