Relay for Life, a Cancer Society Initiative, held for the first time in Wanaka at Pembroke Park.
This weekend saw, John, Nicole & Olivia Huddleston, with Rotarians Fran Tate, Nicola Brown and their respective partners and other friends of the Huddleston Family, walk, in the Relay for Life, to commemorate the lives of family and friends who may have lost the battle to cancer and also those who have survived.
As Mike Regal of Radio Wanaka put it, it was a great opportunity to walk and JUST TALK! There were many new friends made, there was a better understanding of the Relay for Life and it was clear that the Wanaka community’s generosity was evident once again! The Cancer Society announced approximately $73,000 was raised. The Huddleston ‘Wiggly Wop Wops’young members of the group helped boost this figure with a stall ‘Decorate a Cupcake’ for $2 a pop.
If you missed out attending this time, then Wanaka will host another Relay for Life in 2021.
