The Rotary Summer Book Sale held over the Christmas & New Year period was a resounding success. The book sale was managed by an enthusiastic group of Mt Aspiring College (MAC) students, working towards raising funds for their trip to Spain.
Parents of the students and some Rotarians worked alongside.
A cheque, for $6200, was handed over to the students at a small ceremony held at the Rotary’s club meeting venue following the book sale. It was gratifying to see the results of the successful venture, combining college student power with rotary initiative. The funds raised and the 100’s of books sold culminated in a ‘win win’ situation for both parties!

Consequently, a team of 30 students accompanied by 3 teachers will wing their way to Spain on an educational trip in September 2018. The students want to improve their Spanish and experience the different cultural aspects of life there.

The itinerary includes a visit to the Barcelona Festival La Merce, Monserrat, the Benedictine monastery close to Barcelona, a visit to San Sebastian, Pamplona, Sevilla, Formentera and Mallorca, two islands in the Balearic Archipelago in the Mediterranean. What a trip!
Buena Suerte and Bon Viaje!
