Tititea 16/17 September 

Assemble at Rugby Club car park Saturday morning at 8.00am for a 8.15 departure. Cost will be approx $40 for the weekend,

( Those heading back Sat afternoon cost will be approx.$15.) Returning mid afternoon Sunday. Items to bring 

Warm clothing and sturdy footwear  

Sleeping Bag 

Torch  (Generator is shut down at 10pm) 

Refreshments are BYO 

Nibbles for pre dinner drinks 

Rake, Shovel,  Fork, Spade, Pruners, ( Please ensure these have your name on them) 

Will need 2 – 3 Chainsaws and  Splitting axes 

If anyone has fencing gear please let me know 

List of Tasks for us to work through  ( Russell will have others by the time we arrive) 

Clean up of all areas and clean kitchen including ceiling. 

Wood Splitting (They have a log splitter) 

Two trees to be felled and tidyed up, 

Plants to be planted 

Gravel driveway

Tuesday 5th September - President Fran's Message:  
   
Where has the week gone!  Spring’s here, no doubt about it! It’s been a busy week, Directors Meeting (a summary will be published soon), a visit to Fishing & Game Park (old hatchery Bullock Creek) what an amazing place, Artisan’s Wine & Cheese evening  held in conjunction with Cromwell & Alexandra, beautiful wine, matched with delicious cheeses.
 
Thanks to John Milburn for driving us to Cromwell and back.
Mid-week I hit the slopes for a little skiing at TC, though it was a short day as staying upright on the ‘hard’ piste was an effort. It was an early departure for. ….you guessed it, a NAP! 
 
Deadline for Apologies for Tuesday Meeting, is Monday 8pm.
 
Coming  up  An informal evening at Rhyme & Reason Brewery, Gordon Rd with crafted
beer & pizza.  Tititea Lodge maintenance work weekend 16& 17 September, Duck Race 21 October , Book Sale 1,11,12 November .

Dear Rotary Club

I cannot thank you enough for the kind and generous donation you put towards the funding of our Spirit of Adventure Voyage. As soon as we stepped off the plane in Auckland we were immediately greeted with the warm Auckland air, much different to Wanaka! After we had a good look around Auckland we grabbed some dinner and headed for the ship, upon arriving at the ship we got allocated our bunks and met all the different schools we would be spending the next 5 days with.

Over the five days we were onboard, we learnt the ropes and how to work as a team in all situations. I found that I grew as a person and learned to appreciate the little things in life. Some of the highlights of the trip were definitely getting to see dolphins twice, doing a nightwatch shift to keep the ship from running aground, raft racing back from the beach on the second to last day and all the new people I met.

Again a huge thanks to you for helping make this possible as it was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.
