Tuesday 24th October - President Fran's Message:

Where has the week gone?
What a quacking good day it was, despite the cool start to the day. Duck Race Net Income $11,000, Topsoil Income this weekend approx. $850. The hype around the Executive Ducks was huge. I personally received lots of compliments about the Duck Race and there were lots of suggestions as to how the RWC could enhance next year’s race. Cyber space over Wanaka ran hot leading up to race day. Friday night I saw 2500 Facebook hits and 10am Saturday morning saw 1450 hits. Did we get the message out? We sure did!  Indeed, the Social Media ‘hits’ translated into sales and attendance, helped by ‘word of mouth’, Radio Wanaka, The Messenger, The Wanaka Sun and other media mentions! Wahoo!
There didn’t appear to be too many operational glitzes and the break down at the end of the day went well, thanks to the slick crew who stayed behind. Did all the ducks make it back to the finish line? Who knows, that’s for another day! Saturday afternoon, the little fellas were bathed, patted dry and put to bed for another year. It’s a WRAP!
